Maternal Height-standardized Prevalence of Stunting in 67 Low- and Middle-income Countries
Background: Prevalence of stunting is frequently used as a marker of population-level child undernutrition. Parental height varies widely in low- and middle-income countries (LMIC) and is also a major determinant of stunting.

Assessing the Impact of SPS Regulations on U.S. Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exports
Sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) measures are not new, but their significance in international agrifood trade continues to grow. Much less is known about the trade-restricting potential of these measures because of the difficulty in identifying when SPS ...

Pressure measurements in the SPS vacuum system [PDF]
Abstract Since it was first made operational, in 1976, the vacuum system of the 400 GeV proton accelerator (SPS) has been gradually developed to produce lower pressures, in order to meet the requirements of proton-antiproton collider operation which began in 1981.

Electron Cloud Measurements in the SPS in 2004 [PDF]
Novel measurements of the electron cloud have been performed in the SPS in 2004. The LHC beam in the SPS consists of a number of short bunch trains. By varying the distance between these trains it is possible to test the survival of the electrons after the bunch passage. In this paper, results from simulations and experiments are compared.

SP-index: The measure of the scientific production of researchers
Ability to assess how solidly one is participating in their research arena is a metric that is of interest to many persons in academia. Such assessment is not easily defined, and differences exist in terms of which metric is the most accurate. In reality, no single production metric exists that is easy to determine and acceptable by the entire ...

Tune Measurement and Control at the CERN-SPS [PDF]
Two complementary techniques have been developed which allow the betatron tunes to be controlled during energy ramping of the SPS to a precision of better than ?0.002. By the use of these techniques the setting-up of the SPS as a collider and a fixed target machine is substantially simplified and better physics understanding has been gained.

The EU’s Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed provides information on sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) notifications. With a set of data from the 1998-2013 period, we test the hypothesis that past notifications can determine current notifications.
