Invasive foundress finds suitable habitat and reproduces through pathogenesis. Wingless females produce life offspring quickly, which leads to high population densities. High population densities result in competition, which may induce epigenetic changes and wing development for dispersal.

Effect of the microbiome on pathogen susceptibility across four Drosophilidae species

Four Drosophilidae species were used to investigate how variation in the host microbiome influences susceptibility to infection. Microbial composition and abundance differed among species and treatments. The effects of microbiome manipulation on host survival were both species‐ and pathogen‐specific.

Abstract This study examines how social embeddedness and multiplex relationships shape criminal collaboration within organized crime networks. Drawing on data from three major investigations into the ‘Ndrangheta, we analyze how kinship, clan affiliation, leadership, and prior interactions influence participation in meetings and phone calls.
