Red Blood Cell Fragmentation Mimicking Platelet Recovery in a Patient With Severe Pneumonia
ABSTRACT Here we present a case of red blood cell (RBC) fragmentation mimicking platelet (PLT) recovery. In such situations, the platelet count is typically verified by the manual method. In the present case, the platelet fluorescence (PLT‐F) method demonstrated accuracy comparable to that of the manual approach.

ABSTRACT Multi‐chamber intracardiac thrombi are a rare and high‐risk complication in dilated cardiomyopathy, even during sinus rhythm. This case highlights the associated dangers of hemodynamic compromise and systemic embolization. Management requires vigilant anticoagulation and close monitoring to balance thromboembolic and bleeding risks.
