Numerical simulation of a squall line: Tests of a new cumulus parameterization scheme

open access: yes, 1992
A new cumulus parameterization scheme (CPS) is developed and tested. The CPS includes a cloud model that is shown to favorably replicate mass, moisture and heat fluxes calculated by a time dependent non-hydrostatic three-dimensional cloud model.

Idealized Simulations of a Squall Line from the MC3E Field Campaign Applying Three Bin Microphysics Schemes: Dynamic and Thermodynamic Structure

open access: yes, 2017
The squall-line event on 20 May 2011, during the Midlatitude Continental Convective Clouds (MC3E) field campaign has been simulated by three bin (spectral) microphysics schemes coupled into the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) Model.

Numerical Simulations of a Midlatitude Squall Line

open access: yes, 1988
A two-dimensional, nonhydrostatic cloud model was used in attempts to numerically replicate the observed structure of a typical midlatitude squall line.
