High‐Power Rapid Laser‐Induced Synthesis of Multi‐functional Cobalt Metal‐Organic Framework With an Unprecedented Synthesis Efficiency

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Laser‐assisted synthesis enables rapid (within 1 h) and high‐yield (≥90%) production of Co‐MOFs with mesoporous structures, tunable magnetic and optical properties, and efficient adsorption of N2, CH4, and CO2 for low‐energy gas separation. DFT calculations elucidate the electronic structure and adsorption behavior.

Synthesis of carbon nanosheet from barley and its use as non-enzymatic glucose biosensor

open access: yesJournal of Pharmaceutical Analysis, 2014
In this work, carbon nanosheet (CNS) based electrode was designed for electrochemical biosensing of glucose. CNS has been obtained by the pyrolysis of barley at 600–750 °C in a muffle furnace; it was then purified and functionalized. The CNS has been

A new insight into the oxidative mechanism of caffeine and related methylxanthines in aprotic medium: May caffeine be really considered as an antioxidant? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Background: Antioxidant properties have been recently suggested for caffeine that seems showing protective effects against damages caused by oxidative stress. In particular, a HO% scavenging activity has been ascribed to caffeine. Even if the oxidation

Textile Actuation Based on In‐Air Actuating Polypyrrole‐Based Tape Yarns for Wearable Soft Robotics: Toward On‐Body Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work reports on the actuation behavior of CP‐based polypyrrole/PVdF TYs soaked in electrolyte/ionic liquids and woven actuators where such TYs are integrated. These studies are important toward the creation of on‐body applications such as wearable soft robotics, where textiles offer many advantages such as increased force, integrated electrical ...
