Multispectral Quantum Dots-in-a-Well Infrared Detectors Using Plasmon Assisted Cavities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We present the design, fabrication, and characterization, of multi-spectral quantum dots-in-a-well (DWELL) infrared detectors, by the integration of a surface plasmon assisted resonant cavity with the infrared detector.

Multicellular states of viscoelastic thermovibrational convection in a square cavity

open access: yes, 2021
The problem of pure thermovibrational flow in a two-dimensional square cavity containing a viscoelastic liquid is investigated in the framework of a numerical approach based on the governing balance equations for mass, momentum, and energy in their ...

Analysis of the Magnetic Field Effect on Entropy Generation at Thermosolutal Convection in a Square Cavity

open access: yesEntropy, 2011
Thermosolutal convection in a square cavity filled with air and submitted to an inclined magnetic field is investigated numerically. The cavity is heated and cooled along the active walls with a mass gradient whereas the two other walls of the cavity are

Cavity-enhanced ultrafast two-dimensional spectroscopy using higher-order modes [PDF]

open access: yesJ. Phys. B. 50, 044004 (2017), 2016
We describe methods using frequency combs and optical resonators for recording two-dimensional (2D) ultrafast spectroscopy signals with high sensitivity. By coupling multiple frequency combs to higher-order modes of one or more optical cavities, background-free, cavity-enhanced 2D spectroscopy signals are naturally generated via phase cycling.

Unconventional saturation effects at intermediate drive in a lossy cavity coupled to few emitters [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review A 108, 053706 (2023), 2021
Recent technological advancements have enabled strong light-matter interaction in highly dissipative cavity-emitter systems. However, in these systems, which are well described by the Tavis-Cummings model, the considerable loss rates render the realization of many desirable nonlinear effects, such as saturation and photon blockade, problematic. Here we

Coupling of polarization and spatial degrees of freedom of highly divergent emission in broad-area square vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The polarization of highly divergent modes of broad-area square vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers is shown to be only marginally affected by material anisotropies but determined by an interplay of the polarization properties of the Bragg cavity ...

Convective Flow of Blood in Square and Circular Cavities [PDF]

open access: yesAnalele Universitatii "Ovidius" Constanta - Seria Matematica, 2018
Abstract In this study, the fully developed, steady, laminar ow of blood is studied in a long pipe with square and circular cross-sections subjected to a magnetic field generated by an electric wire. Temperature difference between the walls causes heat transfer within the fluid by the displacement of the magnetizable fluid particles in ...

Quantum dot photonic crystal lasers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Coupled cavity designs on two-dimensional square lattice photonic crystal slabs were used to demonstrate optically pumped indium arsenide quantum dot photonic crystal lasers at room temperature.

Probing the Tavis-Cummings level splitting with intermediate-scale superconducting circuits [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
We demonstrate the local control of up to eight two-level systems interacting strongly with a microwave cavity. Following calibration, the frequency of each individual two-level system (qubit) is tunable without influencing the others.

Numerical Study of Natural Convection of Power Law Fluid in a Square Cavity Fitted with a Uniformly Heated T-Fin

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
Flow of a liquid in an enclosure with heat transfer has drawn special focus of researchers due to the abundant thermal engineering applications. So, the aim of present communication is to explore thermal characteristics of natural convective power-law ...
