The authors provide various propositional logics for the dynamic implication studied by Kamp, Groenendijk, Stokhof, and others to analyse some natural language phenomena. The underlying idea in these theories, which analyses sentence meanings as active entities transforming state spaces like computer programs, is abstracted in the framework of two ...

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

AbstractSuppose there is a Room square of side r. Then there is a Room square of side 4r + 1 with a sub-square of side r which is isomorphic to the original square. No example was known previously of a Room square of side s with a subsquare of side r where s ⩽ 6r.

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

High-performance numerical algorithms and software for structured total least squares
We present a software package for structured total least squares approximation problems. The allowed structures in the data matrix are block-Toeplitz, block-Hankel, unstructured, and exact.

On the complex least squares problem with constrained phase [PDF]
The problem of solving approximately in the least squares sense an overdetermined linear system of equations with complex valued coefficients is considered, where the elements of the solution vector are constrained to have the same phase.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

Several methods of constructing semi-Latin squares are given. Efficiency factors of semi-Latin squares are discussed, and it is shown that Trojan squares and their derivatives have high efficiency factors in the bottom ...
