The Impact of Squeeze Casting in AMMC—Review

2021
This current review deals with the influence of squeeze casting on the mechanical property and microstructure of aluminium metals matrix composites. The squeeze casting is also known as the liquid forging technique in which the liquid aluminium matrix is forged by applying squeeze pressure during solidification.

Squeeze casting of Al-Cu alloy

Journal of Central South University of Technology, 2002
In order to use the cast method to replace forge method in producing the load-bearing wheel used in certain heavy duty vehicle, simplified and reduced size load-bearing wheels were squeeze cast and studied using Al-Cu alloy. Tensile properties, hardness, microstructures and morphologies of the squeeze-cast wheels were investigated.

Squeeze casting: A review and update

Journal of Applied Metalworking, 1981
Squeeze casting is a pressurized solidification process whose conception in Russia dates back over a hundred years. It has been cited frequently since 1950 as a major production process in Soviet foundries. The process has recently been commercialized in Japan for automotive wheels; and considerable progress appears to have been made in the United ...

Fabrication by Squeeze Casting

2012
The history of squeeze casting as a fabrication process for MMCs is briefly described in this chapter. Squeeze casting is one of the liquid state fabrication techniques. We can learn essentials of the fabrication of composites from studying squeeze casting, because, during squeeze casting, mechanical energy is converted into interface energy at the ...

Squeeze Casting for Disc Brake Calipers

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1990
<div class="htmlview paragraph">This paper deals with the newly developed technique of the squeeze casting process by using a horizontal die casting machine. Mechanical properties of squeeze castings are superior to those of gravity die casting. The productivity is attainable as high as the pressure die casting by employing the horizontal type of
