Incompressible squeeze-film levitation
Transverse vibrations can induce the non-linear compression of a thin film of air to levitate objects, via the squeeze-film effect. This phenomenon is well captured by the Reynolds' lubrication theory; however, the same theory fails to describe this levitation when the fluid is incompressible.

Pressure Distribution in a Porous Squeeze Film Bearing Lubricated with a Herschel-Bulkley Fluid
The influence of a wall porosity on the pressure distribution in a curvilinear squeeze film bearing lubricated with a lubricant being a viscoplastic fluid of a Herschel-Bulkley type is considered.

Squeeze-Film Effect on Atomically Thin Resonators in the High-Pressure Limit. [PDF]
The resonance frequency of membranes depends on the gas pressure due to the squeeze-film effect, induced by the compression of a thin gas film that is trapped underneath the resonator by the high-frequency motion. This effect is particularly large in low-

This study aims at the lubricant film between the slipper and swashplate of an axial piston pump. Based on a single piston/slipper assembly model, a mathematical model for the squeeze film effect is developed according to the pressure-flow transfer ...

Effect of Significant Parameters on Squeeze Film Characteristics in Pathological Synovial Joints
Synovial joints are unique biological tribo-systems that allow for efficient mobility. Most of the synovial joint activities in the human body are accomplished due to the presence of synovial fluid.

Effect of hydromagnetic squeeze film between non-porous rough triangular plates [PDF]
The current investigation analyse the impact of hydromagnetic squeeze film between non-porous rough triangular plates. The bearing surface are viewed transversely rough. The Christensen and Tonder model is embraced for transverse roughness.

Application of Squeeze Film Dampers
The level of the vibrations and the presence of instability are the two most critical aspects regarding the operations of turbomachinery. To cope with this issues that may compromise the operation of the machines, squeeze film dampers (SFD) are often used in many industrial applications.
