Gallium Nitride‐Based Electrode Materials for Supercapacitors: From Wide Band Semiconductor to Energy Storage Platform

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 20, 7 April 2026.
This review focuses on capability of Gallium Nitride (GaN)‐based supercapacitors, bordering the advancement from porous architecture to novel hybrid nanostructures. It systematically investigates synthesis approaches and charge storage mechanisms that generate remarkable energy densities and competent cyclic stability.

The Electrical Conductivity of the Lower Mantle From High‐Pressure/High‐Temperature Measurements of Pyrolite and Ten Years of Geomagnetic Observations

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 131, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract Electromagnetic sounding coupled with experimental measurements of electrical conductivity (EC) can provide valuable constraints on the thermochemical state of Earth's lower mantle. Here, we report a new set of experimentally determined EC values of pyrolite, a candidate composition of the lower mantle, between 25 and 80 GPa at room ...

Surges Control Salt Flux Variability in a Partially‐Mixed Estuary

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Oceans, Volume 131, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract Salt intrusion is a key parameter characterizing estuarine systems and assessing their response to engineering measures and climate change. Salt intrusion is highly variable as estuaries constantly adapt to changes in discharge, tidal range, and surges. This study is focused on the variations of the salt intrusion in a partially mixed estuary,

Detector alignment for X‐ray crystallography using Millepede‐II

open access: yesJournal of Applied Crystallography, Volume 59, Issue 2, Page 594-608, April 2026.
A computational method for refinement of multi‐panel detector geometry has been adapted from high‐energy physics to serial crystallography. The method is many times faster and much more accurate than previous approaches.I describe a method for accurately refining the geometrical parameters of segmented X‐ray area detectors on the basis of serial ...

Identification of Vegetation Communities Using Segmentation of Aerial Images

open access: yesApplied Vegetation Science, Volume 29, Issue 2, April/June 2026.
This work develops a scalable, segmentation‐based framework for assisting the generation of vegetation maps from aerial imagery. Several state‐of‐the‐art deep learning models are assessed to determine their suitability for identifying vegetation communities.
