The dissection of the colossal squid ( <i> Mesonychoteuthis hamiltoni </i> ) specimen from Antarctica has been getting a lot of coverage. Pangs of homesickness, especially seeing Steve O'Shea enthusing about the beast. Steve was a contemporary at Auckland Uni when I was a student.
