DC SQUID preamplifier for DC-SQUID magnetometer
IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1989A DC SQUID (superconducting quantum interference device) magnetometer with DC SQUID preamplifier has been designed and experimentally tested. The total magnetometer noise was reduced to the intrinsic noise level of the input DC SQUID, and magnetometer cryogenic containment was minimized by using the DC SQUID preamplifier.

SQUID Probe Microscope With Through-Hole SQUID
IEEE Transactions on Appiled Superconductivity, 2005We have developed a high T/sub C/ SQUID probe microscope for investigation of samples at room temperature in air. A high permeability probe needle was used as a flux guide to improve the spatial resolution. A directly coupled DC SQUID with a through-hole in the pickup loop was prepared to improve the coupling of magnetic flux between the probe and the ...

R. L. Greene's letter of 23 February (p. 1039) mentions the important contributions of F. Wellstood and his co-workers to our present understanding of the pairing symmetry of high- T c superconductors, as well as the Maryland group's involvement in the development of scanning SQUID microscopy.

SQUID and SQUID system developments for biomagnetic applications
Clinical Physics and Physiological Measurement, 1991This report describes developments carried out at the author's institution concerning SQUIDs and SQUID systems, based on both conventional niobium technology and high-Tc superconductors. The developments are aimed at increasing the acceptance of SQUID systems by the user from the technical point of view.

Abstract This chapter treats the concrete example of the microwave SQUID, a practical quantum-limited amplifier. The appeal of the SQUID is that it is sufficiently sophisticated to be used in a variety of applications, yet sufficiently simple to allow a detailed analysis of the origin of noise and its processing through the active ...
