Bayesian optimized collection strategies for fatigue strength testing

open access: yesFatigue &Fracture of Engineering Materials &Structures, Volume 46, Issue 1, Page 228-243, January 2023., 2023
Abstract A statistical framework is presented enabling optimal sampling and analysis of constant life fatigue data. Protocols using Bayesian maximum entropy sampling are built based on conventional staircase and stress step methods, reducing the requirement of prior knowledge for data collection.

Reliability challenges of gate dielectric materials in transistors

open access: yesInformation &Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We summarize the advantages and challenges of different dielectrics that are applicable to several mainstream channel materials, including Si, SiC, GaN, and 2D materials. The dielectrics materials include oxides such as SiO2, HfO2, and Al2O3 for conventional transistors, as well as fluorides, van der Waals insulators, and Perovskites, which are ...

The efficacy of an oscillating‐rotating power toothbrush compared to a high‐frequency sonic power toothbrush on parameters of dental plaque and gingival inflammation: A systematic review and meta‐analysis

open access: yesInternational Journal of Dental Hygiene, Volume 21, Issue 1, Page 77-94, February 2023., 2023
Abstract Aim To establish the efficacy of oscillating‐rotating power toothbrush (OR‐PTB) compared to high‐frequency sonic power toothbrush (HFS‐PTB) on improving parameters of plaque and gingival inflammation. Safety and participants' preference were secondary interests. Materials and methods MEDLINE‐PubMed and Cochrane‐CENTRAL databases were searched,

A critical review of bioactive glasses and glass–ceramics in cancer therapy

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Glass Science, Volume 14, Issue 1, Page 69-87, January 2023., 2023
Abstract There is an ongoing profound shift in using glass as a primarily passive material to one that instills active properties. We believe and demonstrate that bioactive glasses (BGs) and glass–ceramics (BGCs) as functional biomaterials for cancer therapy can transform the world of healthcare in the 21st century.

Sterol regulation of scavenger receptor class B type I in macrophages

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2004
Scavenger receptor class B type I (SR-BI) is expressed in macrophages, but its role in sterol trafficking in these cells remains controversial. We examined the effect of sterol loading on SR-BI expression in human monocytes/macrophages, mouse peritoneal ...
