ABSTRACT Actinic keratosis (AK) is a common cutaneous keratinocyte dysplasia resulting from chronic ultraviolet (UV) exposure, typically presenting as erythematous, scaly patches or plaques on sun‐damaged skin. AK is recognized as the main precursor of cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC).
