The aim of the present thesis was the investigation of the SRTM (resolution of 3" ~ 90 m) and ASTER (resolution of 1" ~ 30 m) DTMs to gravity field and geoid modeling. Four types of topographic corrections on gravity anomalies and disturbances, geoid heights and deflections of vertical were computed.

SRTM DEM and its application advances
International Journal of Remote Sensing, 2011The Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) provides for the first time a near-global high-resolution digital elevation model (DEM) with great advantages of homogeneous quality and free availability. The last 10 years or so have seen rapid advances in the data processing and applications of SRTM DEM.

Field experiments synchronous with SRTM flights
IGARSS 2001. Scanning the Present and Resolving the Future. Proceedings. IEEE 2001 International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (Cat. No.01CH37217), 2002A national coordinated program was evolved to utilise SRTM data for applications to Earth sciences, hydrology and technology development. The project was sponsored by Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. Fourteen test sites covering the above themes spread all over India were selected for conducting synchronous field experiments ...

The SRTM sub-arcsecond metrology camera
2001 IEEE Aerospace Conference Proceedings (Cat. No.01TH8542), 2002To achieve the necessary interferometric baseline for the recent Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM), an outboard radar antenna was deployed using a 60 meter mast from a main radar antenna in the shuttle payload bay. The mast had dominant flexible modes around 0.1 Hz with tip displacements on the order of several centimeters in response to shuttle ...

Concept for the X-SAR/SRTM data utilization
IEEE 1999 International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium. IGARSS'99 (Cat. No.99CH36293), 2003With the X-SAR/SRTM Mission for the first time a high resolution digital elevation model of all landmasses between +60/spl deg/ and -58/spl deg/ will be generated. DLR will process its model in a timeframe of 2 years after the mission, which is scheduled for September 1999.

A Global Assessment of the SRTM Performance
Photogrammetric Engineering & Remote Sensing, 2006The NASA/NGA Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) collected interferometric radar data which has been used by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory to generate a near-global topography data product for latitudes smaller than 60°. One of the primary goals of the mission was to produce a data set that was globally consistent and with quantified errors.

Calibration of the interferometric X-SAR system on SRTM
IEEE 1999 International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium. IGARSS'99 (Cat. No.99CH36293), 2003The authors present the interferometric calibration of the X-SAR system on SRTM. From a height sensitivity analysis they identify key system parameters influencing the height reconstruction performance. Possible error sources in the radar instrument and the geometry determination are discussed.

The SRTM Data “Finishing” Process and Products
Photogrammetric Engineering & Remote Sensing, 2006The Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) successfully acquired terrain elevation data for 80 percent of the Earth’s landmass in February 2000. The radar system and data collection scheme designed by NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) met the global requirements of the U.S. Department of Defense for Level 2 Digital Terrain Elevation Data (DTED ® )
