Filler Wetting in Miscible ESBR/SSBR Blends and Its Effect on Mechanical Properties

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, 2016
The selective wetting behavior of silica in emulsion styrene butadiene rubber (ESBR)/solution styrene butadiene rubber (SSBR) blends is characterized by the wetting concept, which is further developed for filled blends based on miscible rubbers. It is found that not only the chemical rubber–filler affinity but also the topology of the filler surface ...

Towards Scalable Production of Sodium‐Ion Batteries: Solvent‐Free Layered‐Oxide Cathodes and Aqueous‐Processed Hard Carbon Anodes for Cost‐Effective Full‐Cell Manufacturing

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, Volume 8, Issue 5, May 2025.
A cost‐efficient full‐cell manufacturing of sodium‐ion batteries (SIB) is presented by using the DRYtraec® process to avoid toxic N‐methyl‐2‐pyrrolidone solvent. Resulting dry‐processed cathodes with lower binder content were compared to wet‐processed analogue.

Structure-propery relationship of low molecular weight ‘liquid’ polymers in blends of sulfur cured SSBR-rich compounds

open access: yesPolymer Testing, 2020
In recent years, many patents have been published that are claiming the use of low molecular weight ‘liquid’ polymers in tire tread applications. Herein, tire producers generally introduce improved balances of the tire performances such as wet grip, abrasion resistance and rolling resistance.

All-Polyamide Composite Coated-Fabric as an Alternative Material of Construction for Textile-Bioreactors (TBRs)

open access: yesEnergies, 2017
All-polyamide composite coated-fabric (APCCF) was used as an alternative material for the construction of textile-bioreactors (TBRs), which are prepared as a replacement of the traditional stainless steel bioreactors (SSBRs) or concrete-based bioreactors.

Investigation of different ingredients contributing to the cure torque in silica-filled SSBR compounds

open access: yes, 2023
Chemical crosslinking of elastomers through the vulcanization process creates a three-dimensional network and makes them suitable for many engineering applications. During this reaction, the polymer chains are linked to each other in presence of curing agents.

Raw rubber network of acid-free natural rubber and its application with solution-polymerized styrene butadiene rubber in green tires

open access: yesPolymer Testing
Natural raw rubber was prepared by flash evaporation process (VNR), its raw rubber network was compared with that of acid-coagulated rubber (STR20), and the effects of the ratios of VNR and STR20 to SSBR on the comprehensive performance of green tire ...
