Biomarkers of Drug‐Induced Kidney Injury: Use in Clinical Trials and Recent Examples of Impact on Drug Development

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, Volume 119, Issue 3, Page 608-617, March 2026.
This manuscript describes the scope of implementation and impact of a regulatory agency‐qualified panel of six urine biomarkers on drug development, the process for which was conducted and funded by the Critical Path Institute, the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health, and the United States Food and Drug Administration.

Identification of chromosome‐specific simple sequence repeat markers to characterize the Langdon durum D‐genome disomic substitution lines

open access: yesCrop Science, Volume 66, Issue 2, March/April 2026.
Abstract Genetic studies of durum wheat (Triticum turgidum L. ssp. durum [Desf.] Husnot.) provide valuable information for crop improvement. In the 1980s, D‐genome disomic chromosome substitution (DS) lines were developed, which involved the substitution of a pair of D‐genome chromosomes from hexaploid wheat (T.

Carya luodianensis (Juglandaceae), a New Species From Guizhou Province, Southern China, Revealed by Morphological and Plastid Evidence

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 3, March 2026.
Carya luodianensis (Juglandaceae), a new species, is described and illustrated. We combined morphological characteristics, comparative plastome analyses, and phylogenetic analysis, all of which support the recognition of C. luodianensis as a new species and highlight its evolutionary divergence within Carya. ABSTRACT Carya luodianensis Y.B. Yang & M.T.

Movement Models to Predict Low‐Altitude Flight of Soaring Birds Using Look‐Ahead Environmental Factors

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 3, March 2026.
Eagles see ahead. Now our model does too. By modeling how eagles respond to terrain and wind conditions in their line of sight, we can predict where they'll fly in the next 3 min with 3× better accuracy than current methods—protecting eagles while maximizing energy production.
