Mixtures of Spatial Spline Regressions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We present an extension of the functional data analysis framework for univariate functions to the analysis of surfaces: functions of two variables. The spatial spline regression (SSR) approach developed can be used to model surfaces that are sampled over

Recover Fine-Grained Spatial Data from Coarse Aggregation

open access: yes, 2017
In this paper, we study a new type of spatial sparse recovery problem, that is to infer the fine-grained spatial distribution of certain density data in a region only based on the aggregate observations recorded for each of its subregions.

Mass‐Produced and High‐Performance Nanowell Biosensor Fabricated via Semiconductor Manufacturing for Rapid and Accurate COVID‐19 Diagnosis in the Clinical Field

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A semiconductor‐fabricated nanowell biosensor enables rapid, scalable, and highly reproducible detection of SARS‐CoV‐2 antigens from nasal swabs within ∼10 minutes. Clinical validation in 249 retrospective and 243 prospective patient samples demonstrates high sensitivity and specificity, minimal cross‐reactivity, and robust batch‐to‐batch ...

Computational fluid dynamics modeling of symptomatic intracranial atherosclerosis may predict risk of stroke recurrence. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
BackgroundPatients with symptomatic intracranial atherosclerosis (ICAS) of ≥ 70% luminal stenosis are at high risk of stroke recurrence. We aimed to evaluate the relationships between hemodynamics of ICAS revealed by computational fluid dynamics (CFD ...

The BnTFL1‐BnJAM3‐BnSWEETs Module Orchestrates Seed Storage Reserve Accumulation in Brassica napus

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
BnaC03.TFL1 and BnaA01.JAM3 form a complex that facilitates the transport of soluble sugars from the seed coat to the embryo by directly activating the expression of BnSWEETs. Furthermore, BnaC03.TFL1 and BnaA01.JAM3 work cooperatively to promote soluble sugar and oil production while suppressing protein deposition.

Gombarezisztencia gének térképezése szőlőben = Mapping resistance genes against fungi in grapevine [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Lisztharmat (PM) és peronoszpóra (DM) rezisztencia génekkel kapcsolt markerek szelekcióra való alkalmasságát vizsgáltuk szőlő inter-és intraspecifikus térképezési populációiban.

Identification of a Simple Sequence Repeat molecular-marker set for large-scale analyses of pear germplasm [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Simple Sequence Repeats (SSR) are molecular markers suitable to assess the genetic variation of germplasm resources; however, large-scale SSR use requires protocol optimization. The present work aimed to identify SSR markers, developed for pear and other

Segregation analysis of microsatellite (SSR) markers in sugarcane polyploids

open access: yesGenetics and Molecular Research, 2015
No information is available on segregation analysis of DNA markers involving both pollen and self-progeny. Therefore, we used capillary electrophoresis- and fluorescence-based DNA fingerprinting together with single pollen collection and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) to investigate simple sequence repeat (SSR) marker segregation among 964 single ...

Introgressed Variation in TaMYB7‐A1 Drives Graded Dormancy and Climate‐Adaptive Pre‐Harvest Sprouting Resistance in Wheat

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
TaMYB7‐A1 directly activates TaABI5 to enhance ABA signaling and regulate ABA‐GA homeostasis, enforcing seed dormancy. Its superior allele, derived from wild einkorn introgression, harbors a MITE insertion that elevates expression and two amino acid substitutions that enhance transcriptional activity, collectively generating graded PHS resistance for ...

Microbial Odorant Detection Guides Drosophila Parasitoids Seeking Hosts in Fermenting Fruits

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Yeast microbes in fermenting fruits attract both host flies and their parasitoid wasps. Female Leptopilina boulardi detect yeast‐emitted ethyl esters via two olfactory receptors, LbouOR167 and LbouOR136. A conserved residue, Leu159, is critical for binding these compounds, enabling female wasps to locate host‐rich habitats.
