AGRICULTURE UPDATE, 2016 SSRs or microsatellites are tandem repeats of 2-8nt units of DNA and are ubiquitous in all genomes studied so far. SSR markers have many advantages over the other marker systems. The first advantage is their high reproducibility, which would be the most important in genetic analysis.

The Price of a Whipple: Predicting Hospital Charges Using Preoperative Patient Characteristics
World Journal of Surgery, EarlyView.Preoperative lab abnormalities are significant predictors of hospital charges following Whipple's pancreaticoduodenectomy. In a retrospective review of 375 cases, patients with ≥ 3 preoperative laboratory‐based predictors incurred substantially higher charges, underscoring the value of preoperative optimization in reducing financial burden.
