Early detection of OXA-370-producing Klebsiella pneumoniae ST17 co-harboring blaCTX-M-8 in Brazil.

Diagnostic Microbiology and Infectious Disease, 2016
We aimed to describe an early detection of OXA-370-producing Klebsiella pneumoniae in Brazil. The isolate CCBH10079 belonged to ST17 and the blaOXA-370 was located in a plasmid of ≅57kb.

Co-existence of mphA, oqxAB and blaCTX-M-65 on the IncHI2 Plasmid in highly drug-resistant Salmonella enterica serovar Indiana ST17 isolated from retail foods and humans in China

Food Control, 2020
Abstract Salmonellosis is an important global foodborne disease, and Salmonella isolates that are resistant to a wide variety of antibiotics have become a major public health concern. The aim of this study was to investigate the distribution and transmission of mphA gene in azithromycin-resistant Salmonella isolates and characterize the plasmid ...

Epidemic Escherichia coli ST131 and Enterococcus faecium ST17 in coastal marine sediments from an Italian beach.

Environmental Science & Technology, 2013
Fecal indicator bacteria (FIB) are used worldwide to assess water quality in coastal environments, but little is known about their genetic diversity and pathogenicity. This study examines the prevalence, antimicrobial resistance, virulence, and genetic diversity of FIB isolated from marine sediments from a central Adriatic seaside resort.

Heterogeneity in recombination rates and accessory gene co-occurrence distinguish Pseudomonas aeruginosa phylogroups

mSystems
Pseudomonas aeruginosa (class Gammaproteobacteria) is a ubiquitous, ecologically widespread, and metabolically versatile species. It is also an opportunistic pathogen that causes a variety of chronic and acute infections in humans.

Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the epidemiology and molecular features of Pseudomonas aeruginosa bloodstream infections

Scientific Reports
Pseudomonas aeruginosa (PA) bloodstream infections (BSIs) are severe, life-threatening events. PA success involves a complex interplay between virulence, antimicrobial resistance and epidemicity.

Pangenome analysis of Tanzanian clinical Klebsiella pneumoniae reveals pandemic clones with high genome plasticity and versatile mobilome, virulome, and resistome profiles

Microbiology spectrum
Klebsiella pneumoniae is a rapidly evolving pathogen with a diverse pangenome whose mobilome and resistome remain elusive. Here, we aimed to delineate the pangenome of 198 isolates from Tanzanian regions.
