Risk factors associated with in-hospital mortality in young patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction are poorly described. In addition, it is increasingly recognized that these risk factors might differ from those of older patients.

Transient ST-elevation myocardial infarction versus persistent ST-elevation myocardial infarction. An appraisal of patient characteristics and functional outcome [PDF]
Up to 24% of patients presenting with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) show resolution of ST-elevation and symptoms before revascularization. The mechanisms of spontaneous reperfusion are unclear. Given the more favorable outcome of transient STEMI, it is important to obtain further insights in differential aspects. We compared 251 patients ...

ST elevation without myocardial infarction [PDF]
Acute myocarditis may mimic myocardial infarction because the affected patients report ‘classical’ chest pain; the ECG changes and echocardiography are identical to those observed in acute coronary syndromes, and serum markers are increased. We describe a case with ST segment elevation on admission ECG, and coronary angiography was normal.

ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction simulations
The authors present the methods of ECG signal simulation especially ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction known as STEMI. It occurs in the case of blood flow around and towards heart problem. It is strongly associated with a heart attack due to low level of oxygen transported to the heart muscle.

Brugada ST elevation masquerading as ST elevation myocardial infarction [PDF]
Brugada syndrome (BS) is a genetic cardiac syndrome first described in 1992 that is characterized by distinct abnormalities noted in leads V1 and V2 on electrocardiogram. It often leads to syncope or even sudden death in affected patients due to its propensity for ventricular tachycardia and fibrillation.

Tombstoning ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction [PDF]
Tombstoning ST elevation myocardial infarction can be described as a STEMI characterized by tombstoning ST-segment elevation. This myocardial infarction is associated with extensive myocardial damage, reduced left ventricle function, serious hospital complications and poor prognosis.

Symptomatic Presentation of Acute Myocardial Infarction in Heart Transplantation Patients
Patients with acute myocardial infarction with a history of an orthotopic heart transplantation rarely present with classic anginal symptoms, secondary to cardiac denervation.
