Engraftment of sheep splenic lymphocytes into NBSGW mice and application in Brucella infection
A sheep splenocyte‐reconstituted mouse model (Sh‐Spl mice) was established via intravenous injection of sheep splenic lymphocytes into immunodeficient mice to evaluate Brucella infection. Abstract Background The development of immune reconstituted xenograft mouse models has addressed the limitations imposed by interspecies immunological differences in ...

Dynamic stab resistance is a critical property for protective textiles and fibrous composites used in body armor and protective gear applications. This is also a very complex property that depends on various factors, including material properties, structural design, and external impact conditions.

Abstract Premise Applied ecology can significantly influence policy decisions on environmental issues. Therefore, research in this field should be as transparent and reproducible as possible. Existing expertise from a broad range of disciplines should also be integrated into ecological research to allow researchers to maximize understanding of complex ...

Patterns of spinal motion, kinematic spaces and the land‐to‐sea transition in carnivorans
Using 3D reconstructions, we quantify intervertebral joint mobility to investigate how cervical, thoracic, and lumbar vertebral regions evolved distinct kinematic roles in pinnipeds. The findings reveal lineage‐specific adaptations for swimming and highlight the functional significance of vertebral joint flexibility in ecological transitions.

This research work studied the incorporation of a non-Newtonian fluid composed of silica nanoparticles in a cotton substrate material. The modified cotton substrate was subjected to anti-stabbing tests, which revealed that the use of only nine layers of silica-functionalized cotton was sufficient to hold the stab action since only the first layer was ...

Computational fluid dynamics simulations of airflow through the nasal passages of rhinolophoid bats
Abstract The nasal passages of bats that emit their echolocation call through their nostrils have adapted for sound emission as well as standard respiratory and olfactory functions. Rhinolophids, hipposiderids and rhinonycterids all use a high duty cycle (HDC) echolocation strategy.
