The flexible stab‐resistant composite membrane made by thermoplastic polyurethane filled with modified nanoparticles

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2023
Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) has good elasticity and tear resistance, and is often applied in the field of flexible puncture resistance although the puncture resistance of pure TPU is limited. In this paper, silica powder (SiO2) and styrene butadiene

Minimum depths to essential structures in a UK military population using computed tomography: application to stab-resistant body armour

open access: yesZeitschrift für Rechtsmedizin, 2020
INTRODUCTION Edged weapons are a known domestic threat to the police forces of the UK. This threat is mitigated by wearing stab-resistant body armour that is either worn overtly or covertly depending on role.

Stab-resistant fabric gains strength from carbon nanotubes, polyacrylate

Additives for Polymers, 2023
Fabrics that resist knife cuts can help prevent injuries and save lives. But a sharp enough knife or a very forceful jab can get through some of these materials.

Stab Resistance of Thermoset-Impregnated UHMWPE Fabrics

Advanced Materials Research, 2010
The stab resistance of thermoset(TS) impregnated, woven UHMWPE fabric with additional steel fabrics was investigated under dynamic stab testing conditions. Vinyl-ester resin was coated on the UHMWPE fabrics with hand lay-up process to fabricate the composite and the mental fabrics were laminated on the composites.

Leveraging the Synergistic Effect of Ceramic Particles and Shear Thickening Fluid to Develop P‐Aramid Fabric Based Stab‐Resistant Armor

Polymer Composites
Stab‐resistant armors are essential for police and security forces. However, the mechanisms of failure during stab and bullet impacts are dissimilar due to huge differences in associated impact energy densities.

Stab and Cut Resistance

2016
Nowadays attacks or threats with knives are being reported regularly. Special occupational groups, such as taxi or bus drivers and teachers, must be aware of the danger to experience such an assault themselves. Even children and young adults often use knives as weapons. Additionally, knives are also dangerous when being used as tools.
