Barrier effects of surrounding group piles on deformation of foundation pits induced by dewatering
The existing underground structures in urban areas can block the groundwater flow and soil movement (i.e., barrier effects). On this occasion, the design and construction of foundation pits should consider the influences of the barrier effects.

Oncogenic transformation of lung epithelial cells is a multistep process, frequently starting with the inactivation of tumour suppressors and subsequent development of activating mutations in proto‐oncogenes, such as members of the PI3K or MAPK families.

Dynamic Splitting Tensile Properties and Failure Mechanism of Layered Slate
Dynamic tensile failure is one of the main failure modes of layered rock masses during the excavation of underground engineering. This study investigates the influence of loading rate and layered inclination angle on the mechanical properties and failure

Asymptotic behavior of nonlinear systems with impulses: Application to Hopfield neural networks [PDF]
In this paper, we provide some sufficient conditions for the exponential stability of solutions of nonlinear impulsive differential systems by using some inequality of Gronwall-Bellman type.

When a foundation pit is adjacent to the existing underground structures, the groundwater seepage and ground movement caused by dewatering will be blocked by the underground structures (i.e., the water- and soil-blocking effects).
