Serum Myonectin Levels Are Positively Associated With Physical Function and Lower Frailty‐Related Limitation in Maintenance Hemodialysis Patients: A Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients frequently suffer from frailty, characterized by reduced physical function and poor prognosis. Myokines, such as myonectin, secreted by muscle, are emerging regulators of systemic health. This study investigated the relationship between serum myonectin, adipokines (adiponectin, omentin), and ...

Risk Prediction of Water Inrush in Diversion Tunnel Crossing Water-Rich Fault Based on NRBO-XGBoost Algorithm

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Water inrush can easily occur during the construction of diversion tunnels crossing water-rich faults, and large-scale water inrushes pose a great threat to construction personnel and machinery.

Comparative Evaluation of Hemodiafiltration, Hemoperfusion, and Standard Hemodialysis on Efficacy, Inflammatory Control, Dialysis Adequacy, and Safety in End‐Stage Renal Disease: A Prospective Observational Study

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Chronic micro‐inflammation in patients with end‐stage renal disease (ESRD) is a significant driver of cardiovascular complications and diminished quality of life. While standard hemodialysis (SHD) effectively manages small‐molecule clearance, its ability to remove medium‐to‐large uremic toxins—the primary catalysts of systemic ...

Investigating the compaction and the mechanical behaviors of coal gangue as subgrade filler and constructing highway subgrade in practice

open access: yesScientific Reports
Using coal gangue as subgrade filler (CGSF) can address the accumulated issues of coal mine waste, but also save the constructing costs, which has the important ecological and engineering practical value.

Stability and Stabilization of a Class of Boundary Control Systems [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 44th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2006
We study a class of partial differential equations on a one dimensional spatial domain with control and observation at the boundary. For this class of systems we describe how to obtain an impedance energy-preserving system, as well as scattering energy-preserving system.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.
