Elevated Connectivity During Language Processing Is Associated With Cognitive Performance in SeLECTS

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Self‐Limited Epilepsy with Centrotemporal Spikes (SeLECTS) is associated with language impairments despite seizures originating in the motor cortex, suggesting aberrant cross‐network interactions. Here we tested whether functional connectivity in SeLECTS during language tasks predicts language performance.

Synchronization transitions and spike dynamics in a higher-order Kuramoto model with Lévy noise

open access: yesCommunications Physics
Synchronization in complex networks is influenced by higher-order interactions and non-Gaussian perturbations, yet their mechanisms remain unclear. We investigate the synchronization and spike dynamics in a higher-order Kuramoto model subjected to Lévy ...

Peripheral Neutrophil Activation and Extracellular Trap Formation in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
Markers of neutrophil activation are increased in plasma during ALS, and markers of NET formation associate with ALS survival. ABSTRACT Objectives Peripheral neutrophil levels in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) inversely correlate with survival, suggesting a role for neutrophils in disease progression.

Phase Noise Suppression and Frequency Stabilization Technology Based on Single-Fiber-Loop Optoelectronic Oscillator

open access: yesInternational Journal of Optics
This paper presents a phase noise suppression and frequency stabilization technology for a single-fiber-loop optoelectronic oscillator (OEO). By incorporating low-noise and high-stability laser source control, bias point stabilization for the electro ...

Noise Traders [PDF]

open access: yes
Noise traders are agents whose theoretical existence has been hypothesized as a way of solving certain fundamental problems in Financial Economics. We briefly review the literature on noise traders.

Does Long‐Term Lower Extremity Strength Training in Adults With Knee Osteoarthritis and Varus Alignment Reduce Knee Joint Loading During Gait?

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective We examined whether 18 months of strength training in individuals with knee varus alignment and medial tibiofemoral osteoarthritis (OA) reduced knee joint loads during walking compared to an attention control group. Methods This study was a secondary analysis of a randomized clinical trial that compared the effects of strength training to a ...

Generalized M-Estimation-Based Framework for Robust Guidance Information Extraction

open access: yesEntropy
This study tackles state estimation challenges in guidance information extraction. These challenges arise from non-Gaussian noise. We propose a robust framework to address them.

A Q‐Learning Algorithm to Solve the Two‐Player Zero‐Sum Game Problem for Nonlinear Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, Volume 39, Issue 3, Page 566-581, March 2025.
A Q‐learning algorithm to solve the two‐player zero‐sum game problem for nonlinear systems. ABSTRACT This paper deals with the two‐player zero‐sum game problem, which is a bounded L2$$ {L}_2 $$‐gain robust control problem. Finding an analytical solution to the complex Hamilton‐Jacobi‐Issacs (HJI) equation is a challenging task.

Effects of noise on visual orienting [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
Eleven experiments are reported which examine the effects of 90 dB (A) white noise on the processes which govern orienting of attention in visual space. The selectivity hypothesis argues that noise alters the priorities which govern stimulus selection so
