Influence of Flettner balloon, used as wind energy capturing system, on container ship stability [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2020
This article presents the influence on the stability of a container ship, by connecting a Flettner balloon, as wind energy capturing system. Flettner balloon is a generator of electric power, filled with helium that rotates around a horizontal axis and ...

Radiotherapy Delivery in Deep Inspiration for Pediatric Patients—Final Results of the Phase II Feasibility Study TEDDI

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
Abstract Introduction The TEDDI trial tested the feasibility and reproducibility of deep‐inspiration breath‐hold (DIBH) in pediatric patients referred for radiotherapy. This report presents final results, including patient‐reported outcomes (PRO) and dosimetric comparison of DIBH and free‐breathing (FB).

Predicting Chronicity in Children and Adolescents With Newly Diagnosed Immune Thrombocytopenia at the Timepoint of Diagnosis Using Machine Learning‐Based Approaches

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives To identify predictors of chronic ITP (cITP) and to develop a model based on several machine learning (ML) methods to estimate the individual risk of chronicity at the timepoint of diagnosis. Methods We analyzed a longitudinal cohort of 944 children enrolled in the Intercontinental Cooperative immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) Study ...

Prognostic Impact of Treatment Modalities, Including Targeted Compartmental Radio‐Immunotherapy, in a Cohort of Neuroblastoma Patients With CNS Metastases at Relapse

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Neuroblastoma (NB) with central nervous system (CNS) metastases is rare at diagnosis, but occurs more often during relapse/progression. Patients with CNS metastases face a dismal prognosis, with no standardized curative treatment available.

STABILITY CALCULATIONS FOR PIECEWISE-SMOOTH DELAY EQUATIONS [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 2009
This paper describes a new method for computing the stability of nonsmooth periodic orbits of piecewise-smooth dynamical systems with delay. Stability computations for piecewise-smooth dynamical systems without delay have previously been performed using discontinuity mappings to "correct" the linearized period map.

Pathogenic Germline PALB2 and RAD50 Variants in Patients With Relapsed Ewing Sarcoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Approximately 10% of patients with Ewing sarcoma (EwS) have pathogenic germline variants. Here, we report two cases: first, a novel germline pathogenic variant in partner and localizer of BRCA2 (PALB2) in a patient with a late EwS relapse. Its impact on homologous recombination is demonstrated, and breast cancer risk is discussed.

Analysis of power system transient stability characteristics with the application of massive transient stability simulation data

open access: yesEnergy Reports, 2021
A large number of simulation results will be generated during the calculation of the power system digital simulation. Manual analysis of massive numerical results is inefficient and error-prone. Besides, some imperceptible operating rules of power system

Psychological Safety Among Interprofessional Pediatric Oncology Teams in Germany: A Nationwide Survey

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Psychological safety (PS) is essential for teamwork, communication, and patient safety in complex healthcare environments. In pediatric oncology, interprofessional collaboration occurs under high emotional and organizational demands. Low PS may increase stress, burnout, and adverse events.
