The stability of PRISM estimates
Energy and Buildings, 1986Abstract The stability of the PRISM parameters against changes in time periods is studied, for a better understanding of the problems likely to emerge when meter readings are missing or when only bimonthly data are available. Consecutive monthly readings spanning intervals from 7 to 24 months, and one-year data sets with gaps, are examined.

On the Estimation and Stability of Beta
The Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, 1980Beta coefficients were initially defined by Sharpe [11] as the slope term in the simple linear regression function where the rate of return on a market index was the independent variable and a security's rate of return was the dependent variable. As indicated by Brenner and Smidt [4], accurate estimation of beta coefficients is important for at least ...

The proximity of power systems to voltage collapse can be calculated for any of the buses using to the theory of bifurcation and multiple solutions to power flow behavior, in terms of system indicators such as real and reactive power. These indicators can be measured to identify voltage collapse.

Bias and Stability of Multiplier Estimates
The Review of Economics and Statistics, 1989A number of analytical contributions have given sufficient conditions under which Leontief multiplier estimates are biased. This paper uses empirical data and a Monte Carlo framework to evaluate the problem of bias and obtains the opposite conclusions. For practical purposes, it appears that linear multiplier estimates are unbiased.

A new descriptive method for stability estimation based on genotype’s ascending ecological row was proposed. Dynamic meanings of an analyzed agronomic character-dynamic descriptive row and dynamic descriptive statistics were calculated. The proposed statistics estimated stability to the average level and variability of the studied trait.

A stability estimate for convolution equation
Applied Mathematics and Computation, 2002The author gives an estimate for the solution of a convolution equation \[ \int_R k(x-y)f(y)dy=F(x), x\in R \tag{1} \] where \(f(x), F(x) \in L_2(R)\). Theorem. Assume that \(\int_R |\widehat{f}(\xi)|^2 (1+|\xi|^2) d\xi \leq M\). Then for the solution of the equation (1), the following estimate is valid \(\|f\|_2\leq \frac{1}{k_c}\|F\|_2+\frac{1}{c}M\)

Stability Problems in ODE Estimation
2008The main question addressed is how does the stability of the underlying differential equation system impact on the computational performance of the two major estimation methods, the embedding and simultaneous algorithms. It is shown there is a natural choice of boundary conditions in the embedding method, but the applicability of the method is still ...

On the stability of the jackknife variance estimator in ratio estimation
Journal of Statistical Planning and Inference, 1981Abstract The stability of a slightly modified version of the usual jackknife variance estimator is evaluated exactly in small samples under a suitable linear regression model and compared with that of two different linearization variance estimators. Depending on the degree of heteroscedasticity of the error variance in the model, the stability of the
