Resolvent Estimates and Quantification of Nonlinear Stability
Acta Mathematica Sinica, English Series, 2000The authors investigate the role played by resolvent estimates for the stability of ordinary and parabolic equations. In particular they consider the following equation in the Euclidean space \(u_t=Au + f(u)\) where \(A\) is a linear operator an Euclidean space (\(n\times n\)-matrix) and \(f\) is a nonlinear term. It is assumed that \(\text{Re }\sigma (

Estimates for the stability of low-pass filters
IEEE Transactions on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 1985Summary: A measure of stability is defined for digital filters. It is shown that the stability of low-pass filters goes to zeros as the filter characteristics approach that of an ideal low-pass filter. More precisely, estimates for the rate of convergence are given.

Attenuation Estimation on Phantoms - A Stability Test
Ultrasonic Imaging, 1986Global and local attenuation coefficient estimates were calculated using three methods: the envelope peak method, the central-frequency-downshift method, and the zero-crossing method. The results show that for each method the error of the local estimate with respect to the global estimate is increased as the sample volume is decreased.

A Method for Estimating Endocardial Electrode Stability
Pacing and Clinical Electrophysiology, 1990STIRBYS, P., ET AL.: A Method for Estimating Endocardial Electrode Stability. Assessment of cardiac pacing electrode stability following implantation is of major importance. We describe a method of testing electrode stability using a provocative test.

Stability of source estimates in rolandic spikes
Brain Topography, 1989The interictal spike discharges present in rolandic epilepsy has a dominant horizontal dipolar topography, centered near the rolandic area. In order to examine the generator configuration of this focus, we investigated the variation of spike topography in 20 children with rolandic epilepsy of childhood by the dipole localization method (DLM).

Global Estimation of mRNA Stability in Yeast
2011Turnover of mRNA is an important level of gene regulation. Individual mRNAs have different intrinsic stabilities. Moreover, mRNA stability changes dynamically with conditions such as hormonal stimulation or cellular stress. While accurate methods exist to measure the half-life of an individual transcript, global methods to estimate mRNA turnover have ...

On the Convergence and Stability of a Robust State Estimator
IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 2010Convergence and stability of the robust state estimator obtained in is reinvestigated in this technical note. Some new relations have been established for matrix updates in the recursive state estimation. It is proved that under certain stabilizability and detectability conditions, this robust estimator converges to a stable time invariant system ...

Preliminary Method for Estimating Stability in Plankton
Science, 1961The stability of plankton in the York River, Virginia, during the summer of 1960 is computed by a derived empirical stability measure. The communities were indicated to have considerable homeostasis, being over five times more stable than the physical biotope.
