Controlling chaos in power system based on finite-time stability theory

Chinese Physics B, 2011
Recent investigations show that a power system is a highly nonlinear system and can exhibit chaotic behaviour leading to a voltage collapse, which severely threatens the secure and stable operation of the power system. Based on the finite-time stability theory, two control strategies are presented to achieve finite-time chaos control.

Theory of the temperature stabilization process in gas-controlled heat pipes

Journal of Engineering Physics, 1978
This paper presents results of an analytical investigation of the temperature-stabilization process in gas-controlled heat pipes. Expressions are obtained for the temperature-sensitivity coefficients.

Coping with singular transition matrices in estimation and control stability theory†

International Journal of Control, 1980
When stabilizing linear discrete-time finite dimensional systems in control and estimation either optimally or suboptimally, technical difficulties arise in the conventional stability theories for coping with state transition matrices which are permitted to be singular or with eigenvalues arbitrarily small.

Stability Analysis in a Curved Road Traffic Flow Model Based on Control Theory

Asian Journal of Control, 2017
AbstractIn the paper, a novel traffic flow model is proposed to describe the behavior of vehicles moving on a curved road with a slope. We investigate the related influences on uniform traffic jam analytically and numerically. Based on control theory, the condition for no traffic jam is obtained analytically.

The Control-Based HRM Configurations Theory: Examining the Temporal Stability of HRM Systems in SME’s

2023
The control-based HRM theory aims to capture the diversity of HRM configurations in small organizations as an integral part of business capacities and context. The key premise of the theory is that the control of workers and work is the core task of any organization to achieve its goals, no matter its size. Configurations of control styles can serve as

Controlling Chaos in Power System Based on Tridiagonal Structure Matrix Stability Theory

Advanced Materials Research, 2012
In the case of periodic load disturbance, the chaos oscillation phenomena may caused by power system to threaten the safety operation of the network. In order to solve this problem, this paper presents the strategy on tridiagonal structure matrix stability theory.

Redefining a Bizarre Situation: Relative Concept Stability in Affect Control Theory

Social Psychology Quarterly, 2006
I analyze the process by which we react cognitively to information that contradicts our culturally held sentiments in the context of affect control theory. When bizarre, unanticipated events come to our attention and we have no opportunity to act so as to alter them, we must reidentify at least one event component: the actor, the behavior, or the ...

Contact stability issues in position based impedance control: theory and experiments

Proceedings of IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation, 1996
The contact stability has been considered based on simplified linearized models of robot and environment. It is shown that the most crucial parameter for contact stability is the target damping ratio. When a high compliance is required the stability boundary conditions require significantly overdamped impedance behavior to ensure a stable contact with ...

Periodically Switched Communication Topology in Multi-agent Consensus Control: Stability and Floquet Theory

2018 Annual American Control Conference (ACC), 2018
The goal of this paper is to investigate stability of consensus control of linear multi-agent systems with periodically switched communication topologies. To this end, our contribution is to exploit Floquet theory as a main tool to investigate the stability of consensus problem for a switched system that consists of a set of linear time invariant ...
