Theory and experiments on the stability of robot compliance control

IEEE Transactions on Robotics and Automation, 1991
The authors present a nonlinear stability analysis for constrained robotic motion, a maneuver where the manipulator contacts the environment. The external disturbances, sensor noises, parameter uncertainties, and the dynamics of the total system composed of the robot and the environment have been modeled.

STABILITY OF ORBITS IN AUTOMATA AND CONTROL THEORIES

Kybernetes, 1981
The rapprochement suggested by Arbib between continuity in control theory and tolerance in the theory of automata is discussed with reference to orbits, and in particular to the proof of Takens' version of Zeeman's tolerance stability conjecture. The corresponding result for tolerance automata is established.

The Application of Optimal Control Theory in Stabilizing Mine Grid

First International Conference on Innovative Computing, Information and Control - Volume I (ICICIC'06), 2006
In order to make system as possible as near target value in given time according to requisite control effect,....ontrol function can be selected based on the principle of optimal control in this paper. According to maximum principle of Hamilton function, required optimal control can be obtained from the solution of the nonlinear differential equation ...

On the Control and Stability of Robots Worn by Human: Theory

1989 American Control Conference, 1989
Robot manipulators have the capability to exceed human ability in one particular area; strength. The human's ability to perform a variety of physical tasks is limited not by his intelligence, but by his physical strength. If we can more closely integrate the mechanical power of a machine with human hand under the supervisory control of the human's ...

On tracking theory with embedded stability: control duality resolution

Proceedings of the 40th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (Cat. No.01CH37228), 2002
It is shown that tracking and stability concepts and properties are in general mutually independent. The goal of control by its definition is to ensure required output tracking of a controlled plant. It is explained why a stability property need not he either necessary or sufficient for output tracking, and vice versa, in general. Control should ensure

Application of stability theory to laminar flow control

12th Fluid and Plasma Dynamics Conference, 1979
The paper summarizes the state-of-the-art for application of stability theory to laminar flow control using suction, wall temperature and/or favorable pressure gradient ('natural laminar flow'). Discussions include current LFC problem areas requiring stability analyses, methods of relating stability theory to transition with results from data and ...

Should control theory be used for economic stabilization?

Carnegie-Rochester Conference Series on Public Policy, 1977
Abstract In a genetic-historical view of the fundamental revolution in outlook which represents the real beginning of modern natural science was the discovery that the inert objects of nature are not like men, i.e., subject to persuasion, exhortation, coercion, deception, etc., but are “inexorable.” The position which we have to combat seems to rest ...

Stabilization control of a 2-mass resonant system based on energy control theory

2014 IEEE 13th International Workshop on Advanced Motion Control (AMC), 2014
Stabilization control of a 2-mass system is proposed as one of stabilization methods of multi-DOF systems. The strong point of the proposed method is easy to understand physically, and is based on energy control of the controlled system. Specifically the internal energy of the controlled system is controlled to be zero.

Stability of fuzzy control systems by using nonlinear system theory

Annual Review in Automatic Programming, 1992
In this paper we consider fuzzy control system as nonlinear control systems. We present an unifying framework of methodologies and summarize three different methods. The first one is based on the geometrical interpretation of the system dynamic behaviour in the phase portrait.
