Control theory application in power market stability analysis [PDF]

open access: yes2004 IEEE International Conference on Electric Utility Deregulation, Restructuring and Power Technologies. Proceedings, 2004
This paper proposes a new framework to model the system dynamics and study the system stability for the quantity bidding competition in power market. From the viewpoint of control theory, the quantity bidding competition is modeled as close-loop dynamic system, where market price is the system feedback signal.

Exponential stability of discrete‐time delayed neural networks with saturated impulsive control

open access: yesIET Control Theory & Applications, 2021
This paper examines the problem of the locally exponentially stability for impulsive discrete‐time delayed neural networks (IDDNNs) with actuator saturation.

Multiplier theory for stability analysis of anti-windup control systems [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of 1995 34th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 1999
The paper studies a general framework for analyzing stability of anti-windup bumpless transfer control systems. The authors apply the passivity theorem for deriving sufficient conditions of stability for a class of input nonlinearities.

Event‐triggered scheduling for pinning networks of coupled dynamical systems under stochastically fast switching

open access: yesIET Control Theory & Applications, 2021
This paper studies the stability of linearly coupled dynamical systems with feedback pinning algorithms. Here, both the coupling matrix and the set of pinned‐nodes are time‐varying, induced by stochastic processes.

New results in subspace‐stabilization control theory [PDF]

open access: yesMathematical Problems in Engineering, 1999
Subspace‐stabilization is a generalization of the classical idea of stabilizing motions of a dynamical system to an equilibrium state. The concept of subspace‐stabilization and a theory for designing subspace‐stabilizing control laws was introduced in a previously published paper.

Quantitative analysis of sustained oscillation associated with saturation non‐linearity in a grid‐connected voltage source converter

open access: yesIET Renewable Power Generation, 2021
The interaction between the voltage source converter (VSC) and weak grid causes a negatively damped or diverging oscillation (DVO). The diverging oscillation generally evolves into a sustained oscillation (STO) when governed by the nonlinearities in the ...

Pinning control of fractional-order weighted complex networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In this paper, we consider the pinning control problem of fractional-order weighted complex dynamical networks. The well-studied integer-order complex networks are the special cases of the fractional-order ones. The network model considered can represent

A new fault tolerant control scheme for non‐linear systems by T‐S fuzzy model approach

open access: yesIET Control Theory & Applications, 2021
This paper is concerned with the problem of fault tolerant control for non‐linear systems with sensor faults based on the T‐S fuzzy model approach. First, a fault estimation (FE) observer with L∞ technique is designed to estimate the fault.

Robust control of pantograph‐catenary system: Comparison of 1‐DOF‐based and 2‐DOF‐based control systems

open access: yesIET Control Theory & Applications, 2021
Compared to control bandwidth, low‐frequency uncertainties or disturbances like step signals can be well rejected by many methods having two‐degree‐of‐freedom (2‐DOF).

Coordinated fuzzy logic‐based virtual inertia controller and frequency relay scheme for reliable operation of low‐inertia power system

open access: yesIET Renewable Power Generation, 2021
Coordination between protection and control devices is crucial for maintaining continuous operation of power systems. Existing strategies suffer from improper coordination of control and protection devices.
