Magnetic Interaction and X-Ray Absorption of the Magnetic Compact Stars [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Astronomy and Space Sciences, 1993
Using a simple analytic model based on the MHD stability arguments we obtain the size of the magnetosphere for the magnetic compact stars. We assume the ordered, fieldaligned flow in the magnetosphere and estimate the wellknown Alfven radius.

Stability radius and internal versus external stability in Banach spaces: an evolution semigroup approach

open access: yes, 1999
In this paper the theory of evolution semigroups is developed and used to provide a framework to study the stability of general linear control systems.

Influence of an Argon/Silane Atmosphere on the Temperature of a Thermal Plasma

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The influence of a silane‐doped argon atmosphere on the chemical composition and temperature of a thermal nontransferring argon plasma is investigated using optical emission spectroscopy. As a result of the high amount of free electrons resulting from the stepwise ionization and dissociation of the silane molecule, even a silane addition of 0.01 vol ...

Multi-Objective Optimization of Bogie Stability for Minimum Radius Curve of Battery Track Engineering Vehicle

open access: yesApplied Sciences
A battery track engineering vehicle faces challenges such as derailment and other safety concerns when navigating an R20m minimum radius curve, primarily owing to its low vertical and horizontal stabilities.

AN INJECTIVITY RADIUS ESTIMATE AND STABILITY OF MINIMAL SUBMANIFOLDS

open access: yesKyushu Journal of Mathematics, 1997
Various criteria under which a region \(\Delta \) in a minimal submanifold is stable have been found. Here, the authors choose to call a region \(\Delta \) stable if it is infinitesimally stable, i.e., the second variation operator for the volume functional is positive definite on the space of all variation fields on \(\Delta\).

Engineered Mycelial Scaffolds With Tunable Ultraviolet Protection, Wettability, Thermal Stability, and Spatial Mechanics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Fungal mycelia grown into biodegradable scaffolds and infused with titania nanoparticles show enhanced ultraviolet shielding, thermal protection, and surface nonwettability. Properties were tuned by drying methods, revealing structure–function relationships.

On‐Demand Activation of Thin Alginate Shell Encapsulated Volatile Liquid for Untethered Pneumatic Soft Actuation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Phase‐changing liquids enable untethered pneumatic actuation in soft robotics but suffer from volatility and storage challenges. This work reports a simple method to encapsulate Novec 7000 within micron‐thin alginate shells via in situ injection and ionic crosslinking.

A comparative study on generalized model of anisotropic compact star satisfying the Karmarkar condition

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2017
A new solution satisfying the Karmarkar condition is presented here. We were first to have discovered a hypergeometric function metric potential representing embedding class I spacetime.

Pyramidal Structures on Yttria‐Stabilized Zirconia after High Temperature Exposure at 1500°C: New Features on an Old Material

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
New features on yttria‐stabilized zirconia after exposure at 1500°C: Newly discovered pyramidal structures on an old material. After exposure at 1550°C on the cross section of YSZ new features, namely pyramidal structures are discovered. These structures grow with time, increase in numbers, appear as singularities, are often arranged in strings, and ...

A macroscopic traffic flow model considering driver memory effect on curves

open access: yesResults in Physics
In real-world driving environments, curved roads are a common scenario that drivers must consider. Driver behavior is also a key factor in the study of traffic systems. This study investigates how factors such as curvature radius and friction coefficient
