Extending stability through hierarchical clusters in Echo State Networks

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroinformatics, 2010
Echo State Networks (ESN) are reservoir networks that satisfy well-established criteria for stability when constructed as feedforward networks. Recent evidence suggests that stability criteria are altered in the presence of reservoir substructures, such ...

Stability Radius and Internal Versus External Stability in Banach Spaces: An Evolution Semigroup Approach [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Journal of Control and Optimization, 1998
In this paper the theory of evolution semigroups is developed and used to provide a framework to study the stability of general linear control systems. These include autonomous and nonautonomous systems modeled with unbounded state-space operators acting

Absolute Stability Limit for Relativistic Charged Spheres

open access: yes, 2007
We find an exact solution for the stability limit of relativistic charged spheres for the case of constant gravitational mass density and constant charge density. We argue that this provides an absolute stability limit for any relativistic charged sphere

Bridging transitions for spheres and cylinders

open access: yes, 2015
We study bridging transitions between spherically and cylindrically shaped particles (colloids) of radius $R$ separated by a distance $H$ that are dissolved in a bulk fluid (solvent).

Modelling commercial vehicle handling and rolling stability [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
YesThis paper presents a multi-degrees-of-freedom non-linear multibody dynamic model of a three-axle heavy commercial vehicle tractor unit, comprising a subchassis, front and rear leaf spring suspensions, steering system, and ten wheels/tyres, with a ...

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

On stability in game problems of finding Nash set [PDF]

open access: yesComputer Science Journal of Moldova, 2005
A finite game of several players in the case of linear payoff functions is considered. Stability of the problem of finding the set of Nash equilibrium situations is investigated.

Modeling Car-Following Behaviour of Turning Movements at Intersections with Consideration of Turning Radius

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Transportation, 2020
In order to deeply analyze and describe the characteristics of car-following behaviour of turning vehicles at intersections, the features and application conditions of classic car-following models were analyzed firstly.

Elderly unstable distal radius fractures a prospective cohort study of bone substitutes-augmented percutaneous pinning

open access: yesBMC Musculoskeletal Disorders, 2022
Highlights 1- When used to augment percutaneous pinning of elderly unstable distal radius fractures, bone substitutes did not significantly offer additional postoperative mechanical stability of fixation construct.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...
