Stability is a fundamental property for dynamic systems. In most engineering projects unstable systems are useless. Therefore in system analysis and control design the stability and stabilization become the first priority to be consider. This chapter considers the stability of dynamic systems and the stabilization and stabilizer design of nonlinear ...

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Reviews on Biomembranes, 1984
Rupture and buckling of artificial and biological membranes is an important part of many biological processes. In this review, we present some of the main experimental facts and their analysis. Recent theoretical work, in particular thin film models and nucleation mechanisms of membrane instability, are discussed in detail.

Why do stabilizing controllers stabilize?
Automatica, 1995The paper entitled exaggerately ``Why do stabilizing controllers stabilize'' refers to the very popular behavioral approach in systems sciences. Recently, numerous trials to adopt this methodology in control appeared. The author considers feedback interconnections where all plant variables are available to the controller.

Journal of Endodontics, 1992
With the recent influx of osseointegrated endosseous implants in dentistry, attention has been drawn away from using endodontic stabilizers as a means of stabilizing and retaining teeth. It is our opinion that endodontic stabilizers should be considered in the treatment planning of seemingly nonretainable teeth.

TEACHING STABILITY AND ROBUST STABILITY
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1994Abstract The aim of this paper is to demonstrate that, in teaching stability theory for linear systems, there are two basic mathematical foundations which can be used: The principal of the argument and Lyapunov theory, according to the presentation of the system in the operator or time-domain, respectively.

Physical Review E, 2013
A synergetic control technique for stabilizing a priori unknown saddle steady states of dynamical systems is described. The method involves an unstable filter technique combined with a derivative feedback. The cut-off frequency of the filter is not limited by the damping of the system, and therefore can be set relatively high.

Stability of C ∞ Mappings: II. Infinitesimal Stability Implies Stability
The Annals of Mathematics, 1969The purpose of this paper is to prove that a proper, infinitesimally stable mapping of one finite dimensional Co manifold into another is stable. This result is stated as Theorem 1 of ? 3. The method we use to show this result proves somewhat more; two things which it proves are stated as Theorems 2 and 3 in ? 3.
