Secular Stagnation

open access: yes, 2014
This study analyzes the emergence of secular stagnation as the consequence of a rise in the preference for liquidity. Such a rise is caused by a persistent set of pessimistic expectations. This study also investigates the effectiveness of a broad range of demand-management policies in dealing with secular stagnation. To obtain these results, this study

Potato peel valorization through ethanolamine reactive organosolv treatment

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, EarlyView.
Abstract Approximately 30% of the global potato supply is processed, generating substantial amounts of potato peel (PP) as a byproduct. Potato peel is a suberoligneous biomass, commonly found in the barks and peels of tuberous roots and tubers, and remains underutilized despite being a valuable source of cutin and suberin.

An immersed boundary vector potential‐vorticity meshless solver of the incompressible Navier–Stokes equation

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, Volume 95, Issue 1, Page 143-175, January 2023., 2023
We present a new strong‐form meshless solver combined with the boundary condition‐enforced immersed boundary method for the numerical solution of the nonstationary, incompressible, viscous Navier–Stokes equations in their stream function‐vorticity (in 2D) and vector potential‐vorticity (in 3D) formulation.

Unsettling subject English in the twenty‐first century

open access: yesBritish Educational Research Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract This paper uses examples from Australia and England to explore subject English with regard to the multiple metaphors inherent in the terms ‘settling’ and ‘unsettling’. In doing so we are concerned with imagining a future for a subject English curriculum which dislodges it from its imperial, colonial roots. In the first instance, we outline the

Antibacterial hydrogel: The sniper of chronic wounds

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
The treatment of chronic wounds has always been an important challenge in the medical field. We focus on hydrogels not only because they provide a moist healing environment but also because compared with traditional dressings, they can effectively prevent and treat infections, reduce wound pain and scar formation.

Analysis of distillation characteristics via CFD (computational fluid dynamics) of Korean traditional ‘Sojutgori’ and study on structure for distillation efficiency enhancement

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 11, Issue 1, Page 590-598, January 2023., 2023
This study suggests a new design for tracking and modernizing the flow of fluid that changes inside according to the shape and material of "Sojutgori", a traditional Korean distiller. Abstract The design of the Korean traditional distiller ‘sojutgori’ was extracted as a digital sketch, and the internal fluid flow in the distillation process was tracked
