Understanding the Role of Superhydrophobicity on Heat Transfer Enhancement During Dropwise Condensation in Humid Air Flow

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This study explores the performance of superhydrophobic surfaces during condensation from humid air, showing a 30%–40% heat transfer enhancement at high air velocities, but no advantage at low velocities. Improved droplet removal and vapor mass transfer through the non‐condensable gas layer explain the effect, clarifying operating conditions for ...

Influence of chemical reaction on MHD Newtonian fluid flow on vertical plate in porous medium in conjunction with thermal radiation

open access: yesOpen Physics, 2022
Our key objective in the present work is to elaborate the concept of activation energy in chemically reactive flow with the help of modeling and computation. The model investigated is fluid flow over a vertical cylinder in the porous medium with chemical

Stagnation-point flow towards a vertical plate embedded in a porous medium [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The steady stagnation-point flow towards a heated vertical surface embedded in a porous medium is investigated. The governing partial differential equations are reduced to a system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations using a similarity ...

Isolation Techniques of Micro/Nano‐Scaled Species for Biomedical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Separating micro/nano‐scale bioparticles from samples is essential for disease diagnosis, prevention, and monitoring. Therefore, a comprehensive overview of the latest advanced separation technologies is provided, and characteristics and limitations based on six key performance parameters, including purity, recovery rate, throughput, resolution, size ...

On the hydrodynamics and heat convection of an impinging external flow upon a cylinder with transpiration and embedded in a porous medium [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
This paper extends the existing studies of heat convection by an external flow impinging upon a flat porous insert to that on a circular cylinder inside a porous medium.

Targeting GPX4 to Induce Ferroptosis Overcomes Chemoresistance Mediated by the PAX8‐AS1/GPX4 Axis in Intrahepatic Cholangiocarcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
PAX8‐AS1 drives chemoresistance in intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma by activating NRF2‐mediated GPX4 transcription and stabilizing GPX4 mRNA via IGF2BP3. Targeting the PAX8‐AS1/GPX4 axis with a GPX4 inhibitor enhances the efficacy of gemcitabine and cisplatin in preclinical models, offering a promising strategy to overcome chemotherapy resistance in ...

Stagnation point flow in a vortex core

open access: yesTellus, 1975
In an axisymmetric vortex which is in contact with a plane boundary perpendicular to the axis of symmetry, viscous effects will be significant in the vortex core and close to the boundary. Certain types of vortex core have been studied by Rott (1958, 1959) and Bellamy-Knights (1970, 1971), neglecting viscous effects near the boundary.

Stagnation-point flow over a stretching/shrinking sheet in a porous medium [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
An analysis is performed for the stagnation-point flow over a stretching/shrinking sheet in a porous medium. By using similarity variables, the governing system of partial differential equations are reduced to the coupled ordinary differential equations ...

Kinsenoside‐Loaded Microneedle Accelerates Diabetic Wound Healing by Reprogramming Macrophage Metabolism via Inhibiting IRE1α/XBP1 Signaling Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Gut metabolite trimethylamine N‐oxide accumulates in the diabetic wound area to amplify macrophage inflammation via enhancing glycolysis activities. Kinsenoside induces macrophage repolarization from M1 to M2 phenotype through inhibiting IRE1α/XBP1 pathway, followed by HIF‐1α‐glycolysis axis repression and mitophagy‐oxidative phosphorylation axis ...
