A tetrazolium method for staining peroxidase labels in blotting assays

Journal of Immunological Methods, 1986
A sensitive staining method of horseradish peroxidase-labeled immunoglobulins on nitrocellulose membrane was established by employing a reaction chain leading to formazan formation with phenol as a substrate of peroxidase and NADH as a hydrogen donor to reduce nitro blue tetrazolium.

Fluorescent Staining of Bacteria: Viability and Antibody Labeling

Current Protocols in Microbiology, 2009
AbstractThis appendix presents several methods for using fluorescence to evaluate bacterial viability and to explore the cell surface for the presence of various antigens for diagnostic and taxonomic purposes. The use of fluorescent labeling will allow fast and accurate analysis and monitoring of microbial populations in ecological and clinical ...

Microorganisms in soil as observed by staining with rhodamine-labeled lysozyme

Canadian Journal of Microbiology, 1970
Indigenous soil microorganisms on soil contact slides were stained with rhodamine-labeled lysozyme and counterstained with fluorescein-labeled gelatin. Bacteria and actinomycetes on these slide preparations were readily observed by fluorescence microscopy even if they occurred on or near soil particles.

Fluorochrome-Labeled Deoxyribonuclease: Specific Stain for Cell Nuclei

Science, 1968
Nuclei of cells in tissue culture may be stained with deoxyribonuclease labeled with fluorescein isothiocyanate; this is a simple, rapid, and specific process which is useful in localizing DNA in situ .

Digital Staining of Mitochondria in Label-free Live-cell Microscopy

2021
Examining specific sub-cellular structures while minimizing cell perturbation is important in the life sciences. Fluorescence labeling and imaging is widely used. With the advancement of deep learning, digital staining routines for label-free analysis have emerged to replace fluorescence imaging. Nonetheless, digital staining of sub-cellular structures

Triple immunological staining with colloidal gold, fluorescein and rhodamine as labels

Journal of Immunological Methods, 1985
Colloidal gold particles are detectable by light microscopy with polarized light in the same epi-illumination system as for fluorescence microscopy. Colloidal gold particles can thus be used in combination with a fluorochrome for the combined immunological detection of surface membrane and cytoplasmic markers.

Ferritin Labeled Antibody Staining of Thin Sections

Proceedings, annual meeting, Electron Microscopy Society of America, 1969
The successful application of ferritin labeled antibodies (F-A) to ultrathin sections of biological material has been hampered by two main difficulties. Firstly the normally used procedures for the preparation of material for thin sectioning often result in a loss of antigenicity. Secondly the polymers employed for embedding may non-specifically absorb

Virtual Staining of Label-free Tissue

Frontiers in Optics + Laser Science 2024 (FiO, LS)
We will cover deep learning-based virtual staining techniques that can generate different types of histological stains from label-free microscopic images of unstained samples by using, e.g., autofluorescence microscopy, quantitative phase imaging and reflectance confocal microscopy.

Intensification of labelings of the immunogold silver staining method by gold toning

Brain Research Bulletin, 1992
We evaluated the applicability of the gold toning procedure to the immunogold silver staining method using monoclonal antibody against dopamine. Immunolabeling was examined in the rat substantia nigra at light and electron microscopic levels. Vibratome sections of fixed midbrains were incubated with anti-dopamine antiserum and then with 5 nm colloidal ...

Direct and Indirect Staining of Bacteria with Fluorescein-Labeled Antibodies

1979
The two most frequently used fluorescent procedures for the localization of antigens in different preparations are the direct and indirect methods. In direct staining, the antibody which has been produced in experimental animals or isolated from human serum is directly labeled with fluorescein. In the indirect method, the antibody which will react with
