Sliding wear properties of active screen plasma nitrided 316 austenitic stainless steel [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
AISI 316 austenitic stainless steel has been plasma nitrided using the novel active screen (AS) plasma nitriding technique. Wear properties of the AS plasma nitrided and untreated 316 stainless steel have been investigated using a pin-on-disc tribometer ...

316 Stainless Steel Normalized Polarization Curves

open access: yesPortugaliae Electrochimica Acta, 1999
A technique to obtain normalized current was conceived for the cases in which the electrode surface corrodes. Each polarization curve point is obtained with an untreated electrode, which is submitted to two potential jumps: the first jump was applied to measure the current-potential relation. The second one was used for area normalization.

Benchmarking Coaxial and Angular Optical Emission Spectroscopy With Recommendations for Reliable Compositional In Situ Monitoring During Laser Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Real‐time insight into local chemistry is critical for reliable part quality in additive manufacturing, especially laser powder bed fusion (PBF‑LB/M), where rapid thermal cycles and localized evaporation can undermine part performance. Optical emission spectroscopy (OES) offers non‑intrusive, in situ plume monitoring, but detection geometry ...

Carboxyphenolate Coordination Frameworks for High‐Voltage Calcium Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A hexaanionic carboxyphenolate coordination framework, Ca2‐M‐THBPD (M = Mg, Ca, Ba), exhibits ligand‐centered enolate‐quinonoid redox activity enabling tunable, high‐voltage Ca2+ storage (3.5 V vs Ca2+/Ca) modulated by spectator cations. The amorphous structure accommodates reversible divalent‐ion insertion, contributing to enhanced cycling stability ...
