Effect of Solute Titanium on Void Swelling in 316 Stainless Steel [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Nuclear Science and Technology, 1983
To investigate the solute Ti effect on void swelling in stainless steels, the well-annealed 316 stainless steels modified with various amounts of Ti were electron-irradiated in a high voltage electron microscope (HVEM). It was found that the swelling decreased dramatically with increasing Ti content up to 0.25w/0.

Hydroprocessing of synthetic kerosene over a non‐sulphided Ni/Al2O3 catalyst: Impact of alcohols and ketones on alkene conversion

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract Synthetic jet fuel containing non‐petroleum‐derived kerosene can be produced from synthetic kerosene obtained through processes that include a hydroprocessing step. The potential use of non‐sulphided (reduced) nickel supported on alumina (Ni/Al2O3) was evaluated as an alternative to sulphided catalysts to saturate alkenes in sulphur‐free ...

Effect of Nickel Content and Cooling Rate on the Microstructure of as Cast 316 Stainless Steels

open access: yesCrystals
To meet the requirement of low magnetic permeability, which, in turn, lowers the ferrite content of castings, of special interest is 316 stainless steel, whose low ferrite content renders it suitable also for nuclear power applications.
