Spacer‐Less Substrate‐Integrated Metasurface for Near‐Unity Terahertz Absorption

ABSTRACT Although conventional metal‐insulator‐metal (MIM) terahertz (THz) absorbers can provide near‐unity absorption, their multilayer stacks inevitably introduce additional thickness, mass, and residual stress, which limit their compatibility with THz thermal sensing platforms.

Plasmon‐Induced Charge Separation in Au and Ag Nanoparticle–Polyoxometalate Systems

Plasmon‐induced charge separation via electron injection from gold nanoparticle (NPs) and that from silver NPs into commercially available α‐H4SiW12O40 (SiW12) as a polyoxometalate (POM) was demonstrated under visible light (Vis) by photoelectrochemical measurements and visible absorption spectroscopy, respectively.

Quaternary Climate Oscillations Shape Genetic Diversity and Spatial Structure of Viola hybanthoides (Violaceae) Endemic to Danxia Landscape

We adopted ddRAD‐seq and chloroplast genome sequencing to explore the genetic characteristics of the danxia‐endemic species Viola hybanthoides. This species exhibits extremely low within‐population genetic diversity and obvious genetic differentiation, which is mainly driven by habitat fragmentation, restricted gene flow and Quaternary climatic changes.

Lessons from recent major earthquakes have shown that current life‐safety‐centered seismic design practice falls short in ensuring a desirable post‐hazard recovery. Extensive economic losses, high demolition rates, and long recovery have signified a gap between design targets and society's expectations of seismic performance of code‐compliant buildings.
