Error Traps in Pediatric Neuromuscular Block

open access: yesPediatric Anesthesia, Volume 36, Issue 8, Page 887-898, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Neuromuscular blocking agents are essential for safe pediatric anesthesia but remain a frequent source of preventable morbidity when misused, inadequately monitored, or incompletely reversed. Children, particularly neonates and infants, are especially vulnerable to residual neuromuscular block due to developmental pharmacological ...

Open, flexible and global: What is driving changes in learning environments and what will be the results? An examination of policy and practice in two contrasting countries

open access: yesReview of Education, Volume 14, Issue 2, August 2026.
Abstract The starting point of our analysis is to interrogate the proposal that the move towards innovative learning environments (ILEs), understood as change to both design and practice in schools, represents an important global trend, considering if or how ILEs map onto transnational reforms.

An Integrated Micromirror System for High‐Throughput Multi‐Parametric Cell Imaging

open access: yesSmall Methods, Volume 10, Issue 15, 7 August 2026.
A sheathless optofluidic platform integrates 3D‐printed micromirrors for simultaneous brightfield and dual‐color fluorescence imaging. Leveraging two‐photon stereolithography for rapid, single‐step fabrication, the system enables high‐content intracellular mapping and translocation analysis at throughputs exceeding 3000 cells per second.

Improving Extreme Precipitation Forecasts via Cascade Binary Classification With Diffusion Post‐Processing

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Machine Learning and Computation, Volume 3, Issue 4, August 2026.
Abstract Accurate forecasting of extreme precipitation remains a critical challenge, owing to its heavy‐tailed distribution and severe class imbalance that limit conventional deep learning approaches. This study presents a two‐stage cascade‐diffusion framework for extreme precipitation forecasting over eastern China (110°–130°E, 20°–40°N).

Mesopic microperimetry in Stargardt disease: Application and reliability

open access: yesActa Ophthalmologica, Volume 104, Issue 5, Page e544-e554, August 2026.
Abstract Purpose Mesopic microperimetry (mMP) is a promising functional endpoint in clinical trials for Stargardt disease type 1 (STGD1). This study evaluated the test–retest variability of mMP and influencing factors, which is essential for ensuring reliability in future STGD1 trials.
