Influence of Atomic Surface Structure on the Activity of Ag for the Electrochemical Reduction of CO 2 to CO [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The present work was undertaken to elucidate the facet-dependent activity of Ag for the electrochemical reduction of CO to CO. To this end, CO reduction was investigated over Ag thin films with (111), (100), and (110) orientations prepared via ...

High reward enhances perceptual learning. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Studies of perceptual learning have revealed a great deal of plasticity in adult humans. In this study, we systematically investigated the effects and mechanisms of several forms (trial-by-trial, block, and session rewards) and levels (no, low, high ...

An Efficient Numerical Method for Simulating Electrochemically Driven Enzymatic Reactions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We consider systems in which electroactive enzymes are immobilised on an electrode surface through physical adsorption or covalent attachment on an electrode surface and substrate(s), product(s) and inhibitor(s) are present in the bulk solution. We solve

Theory of Differential Staircase Voltammetry

open access: yesCroatica Chemica Acta, 1995
Staircase voltammetry in differential mode, applied to spherical electrodes of different sizes, is analyzed theoretically. Dependences of peak currents on the sampling times, the potential step increment, the charge transfer coefficient and the electrode radius are investigated. Criteria of reversibility are proposed.

Electrolyte-Dependent Oxygen Evolution Reactions in Alkaline Media: Electrical Double Layer and Interfacial Interactions. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Traditional understanding of electrocatalytic reactions generally focuses on either covalent interactions between adsorbates and the reaction interface (i.e., electrical double layer, EDL) or electrostatic interactions between electrolyte ions. Here, our

Carbon based double layer capacitors with aprotic electrolyte solutions: the possible role of intercalation/insertion processes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The extraordinary stability and cycle life performance of today's electrochemical double-layer capacitors (EDLCs) are generally ascribed to the fact that charge storage in activated carbon (AC) is based on pure double-layer charging.

Study of the potential sweeps in the manual staircase voltammetry

open access: yes, 2020
"Voltammetry can be developed using manual potentiostats. This study focuses on the potential sweeps and its influence on the voltammograms in the manual staircase voltammetry. Oxidations of potassium ferrocyanide, potassium iodide, ascorbic acid and succinic acid were used for the study. Five voltammograms were generated for each analyte.
