Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

Four algorithms for the numerical computation of the standard deviation of (unweighted) sampled data are analyzed. Two of the algorithms are well-known in the statistical and computational literature; the other two are new algorithms specifically intended for automatic computation.

Standard deviation or the standard error of the mean
BMJ, 2015The effects of a diet with a low glycaemic index during pregnancy on maternal and neonatal morbidity for women at risk of fetal macrosomia (large for gestational age infants) were investigated. A randomised controlled trial was performed. The intervention consisted of a low glycaemic index diet from early pregnancy. The control treatment was no dietary

Sometimes two or more distributions will have the same, or essentially the same, means but still be quite different. Mexico City lies in the torrid zone, but because of its altitude of 7,556 feet, in recent years it has had an average temperature of 59.9 °F. The corresponding figure for Nashville, Tennessee, is 60.0 °F.
