Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Metastasis on pause: How dormant tumor cells stay hidden within the tumor microenvironment and evade immune surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

The standard penetration test (SPT): methods and use

open access: yes, 1995
Provides guidance on the use of the Standard Penetration Test (SPT) in geotechnical engineering. Used world-wide in a variety of ground conditions, this simple test is relied upon to provide information about the properties of soils and weak rocks and as

Development of Electrical Resistivity Vibration Penetration Test (ER-VPT)

open access: yes, 2005
The estimation of liquefiable soils and potential mapping of liquefaction are very important for city planners, building owners, and engineers to see liquefaction prone areas and hazard levels.

DNA methylation and expression of MAPRE3 affect overall survival of early‐stage non‐small cell lung cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Both cg12821679MAPRE3 methylation and MAPRE3 expression are significantly associated with overall survival (OS) of non‐small cell lung cancer. Meanwhile, MAPRE3 expression significantly modified the effect of smoking cessation on OS. Smoking cessation benefits OS merely for patients with high MAPRE3 expression.

Correlating standard penetration test and dynamic probe super heavy penetration resistance values in sandy soils

open access: yes, 2016
This paper presents a statistical method used to develop an empirical equivalence between the Standard Penetration Test (SPT) and the Dynamic Probe Super Heavy (DPSH) in sandy material.

Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.

Distribution network impact studies

open access: yes, 2008
In June 2008 the Australian Federal Government's Green Paper stated its goal as a contributory to the Kyoto agreement of an overall reduction in carbon equivalent emissions of 60% of the year 2000 emissions by 2050.
