A Review of Standardization for Penetration Testing Reports and Documents
2019 6th International Conference on Research and Innovation in Information Systems (ICRIIS), 2019Penetration testing or pen test is a simulated cyber-attack conducted to find the vulnerabilities and weaknesses in a computer system. The test is conducted by professionals hired by the organization that produces a report to the organization for further actions. However, the report produce varies according to the different tester.

The Standard penetration test (SPT) and the Becker penetration test (BPT) are two of the most widely used in-situ tests in North America. The SPT is most commonly used in sands and silty sands, while the BPT, being a large-scale penetration test, is more useful in gravelly soils.

Drill Rod Influence on Standard Penetration Test
Journal of the Geotechnical Engineering Division, 1977The many factors that affect the standard penetration test variability have been listed and examined qualitatively by Fletcher and others. One factor listed is the rod linking the split spoon sampler to the surface. Intuitively, one would expect the rod stiffness and inertia to affect the SPT resistance.

Standard Penetration Test: Its Uses and Abuses
Journal of the Soil Mechanics and Foundations Division, 1965In foundation test borings, the recovery of soil samples with a 2-in. OD split sample spoon driven with a 140-lb weight falling 30 in. has been in use for more than 30 yr. Recording the number of blows required to drive the spoon 12 in. has been called the Standard Penetration Test. It provides an approximation of soil densities in situ. It adds little

Standard Penetration Test and Dynamic Cone Penetration Test Relationship for Coarse-Grained Soils
The Standard Penetration Test (SPT) is a commonly used and effective disturbed sampling in-situ method to obtain the strength characteristics of soils, providing significant results for geotechnical design. Several correlations between SPT blow counts (N value) and soil behavior have been established to define physical and mechanical properties ...Burak Tural +3 more
