Does common standard brain template standardize for all brains regardless the different age, gender and culture? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
—In functional brain imaging studies, especially when adjusting the functional image to define a standard brain, it is essential to describe the brain images obtained from different subjects using the same coordinate system.

A New Method to Design and Manufacture a Low-Cost Custom-Made Template for Mandible Cut and Repositioning Using Standard Plates in BSSO Surgery

open access: yesBioengineering
In this study, a new methodology for designing and creating a custom-made template for maxillofacial surgery has been developed. The custom-made template can be used both for cutting and repositioning of the mandible arches for executing a BSSO ...

Conversion of Radiology Reporting Templates to the MRRT Standard [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Digital Imaging, 2015
In 2013, the Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) Radiology workgroup developed the Management of Radiology Report Templates (MRRT) profile, which defines both the format of radiology reporting templates using an extension of Hypertext Markup Language version 5 (HTML5), and the transportation mechanism to query, retrieve, and store these ...

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Automatic Prediction of Protein 3D Structures by Probabilistic Multi-template Homology Modeling. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS Computational Biology, 2015
Homology modeling predicts the 3D structure of a query protein based on the sequence alignment with one or more template proteins of known structure.

Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.

NTU-DSI-122: A diffusion spectrum imaging template with high anatomical matching to the ICBM-152 space

open access: yes, 2017
A diffusion-weighted (DW) template in a standard coordinate system is often necessary for the analysis of white matter (WM) structures using DW images.

USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.
