From performance to prediction: extracting aging data from the effects of base load aging on washing machines for a machine learning model

open access: yesScientific Reports
The standard testing of washing machine performance faces reliability challenges, which stem from the uncontrollable degradation of base load. This study provided a quantified standard for base load age to enhance the reliability and stability of the ...

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Next‐generation proteomics improves lung cancer risk prediction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This is one of very few studies that used prediagnostic blood samples from participants of two large population‐based cohorts. We identified, evaluated, and validated an innovative protein marker model that outperformed an established risk prediction model and criteria employed by low‐dose computed tomography in lung cancer screening trials.

IE WP 20/03 An Evolutionary Approach to the Process of Technology Diffusion and Standardization [PDF]

open access: yes
The study described here aims to make a threefold contribution to the analysis of technology diffusion. First of all, it tries to offer a new approach to the study of the dynamic of innovation diffusion, not from the traditional perspective of the rate ...

Standardizing densities on Gaussian spaces

open access: yes, 2017
In the present note we investigate the problem of standardizing random variables taking values on infinite dimensional Gaussian spaces. In particular, we focus on the transformations induced on densities by the selected standardization procedure.

RaMBat: Accurate identification of medulloblastoma subtypes from diverse data sources with severe batch effects

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
To integrate multiple transcriptomics data with severe batch effects for identifying MB subtypes, we developed a novel and accurate computational method named RaMBat, which leveraged subtype‐specific gene expression ranking information instead of absolute gene expression levels to address batch effects of diverse data sources.
