Human Standing Posture Motion Evaluation by the Visual Simulation of Multi-Directional Sea-Waves
Crew fatigue from standing posture motion, caused by ship motion, can lead to marine accidents. Therefore, the mechanism of fatigue in crew members ought to be elucidated.

A standing wave Fourier transform spectrometer is realized. The spectrometer consists of an ultra thin and partially transparent photodetector and a tunable mirror. The incident light forms a standing wave in front of the mirror, which is sampled by the ultra thin optical detector.

Standing-wave thermoacoustic engines
The aim of this study is mainly devoted to explain a thermoacoustic effect. We explore the basic principles of thermoacoustic engines and primarily we focus on a quarter-wavelength closed-open thermoacoustic engine as a prime mover, where temperature ...

Dynamic response and liquefaction potential of porous seabed induced by partial standing ocean waves
The analysis of ocean wave-induced dynamic response of a porous seabed is particularly important for coastal and geotechnical engineers when designing and constructing maritime structures. In this study, an analytical solution is presented to analyze the

Mesoscale standing wave imaging
AbstractStanding wave (SW) microscopy is a method that uses an interference pattern to excite fluorescence from labelled cellular structures and produces high‐resolution images of three‐dimensional objects in a two‐dimensional dataset. SW microscopy is performed with high‐magnification, high‐numerical aperture objective lenses, and while this results ...

This is an discussion of Schroedinger's 1926 paper. Further calculations in the book can be replicated by the javascript at http://spectrograph.uk attempting the visible spectrum of every atom and ion from wave equations. The subsequent notions of 'spin groups' and 'gauge cocycles' arose because O(1) is not equivariant for automorphims of the Riemann ...

Principal stress rotation (PSR) is one of the main stress conditions for a soil element subject to cyclic waves. It is one of the main causes behind generation of excess pore water pressure and cumulative plastic strain in soil deposits when drainage ...
