Standing Waves for Acoustic Levitation
Standing waves are the most popular method to achieve acoustic trapping. Particles with greater acoustic impedance than the propagation medium will be trapped at the pressure nodes of a standing wave. Acoustic trapping can be used to hold particles of various materials and sizes, without the need of a close-loop controlling system.

White Matter Microstructural Abnormalities in Neonatal Onset Genetic Epilepsy
ABSTRACT Objective Recent evidence indicates that epilepsy is associated with abnormal white matter. If seizures alter white matter, then the impact upon network function, epileptogenesis, and cognition could be pronounced in neonates undergoing rapid developmental myelination. Neonates with epilepsy due to nonstructural genetic causes provide a unique

ABSTRACT Objectives We aimed to determine the frequency of subclinical optic nerve (ON) lesions using MRI, optical coherence tomography (OCT), and visual evoked potentials (VEP) in radiologically isolated syndrome (RIS), and to assess their diagnostic and prognostic significance.

On discontinuity waves and smooth waves in thermo-piezoelectric bodies [PDF]
The solid body B under consideration is composed of a linear thermo-piezoelectric medium, i.e., a non-magnetizable linearly elastic dielectric medium that is heat conducting and not electric conducting; B has a natural conguration, say a placement of ...

Prominent Movement Disorders in RNU2‐2‐Related Spliceosomopathy
ABSTRACT Pediatric movement disorders often overlap with neurodevelopmental diseases, suggesting shared molecular mechanisms. Variants in small nuclear RNA (snRNA) genes encoding spliceosome components have recently been associated with neurodevelopmental disorders, termed “RNUopathies.” We analyzed genome sequencing data from 14 patients with ...

Demo 09-27 Three Tensions Standing Waves
Standing waves of different wavelength can be produced in identical strings by vibrating one end of each tube at the same frequency and hanging different weights on the other end, as shown in Figure 1. For any wave in a stretched string, the wave speed S

Cognitive and Neuroimaging Divergence Between Juvenile and Adult FUS Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis
ABSTRACT Objective Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by progressive motor neuron degeneration. Fused in sarcoma (FUS)‐associated juvenile ALS (jALS) represents a distinct and aggressive subgroup with rapid deterioration and poor prognosis.

The 5D Standing Wave Braneworld with Real Scalar Field
We introduce the new 5D braneworld with the real scalar field in the bulk. The model represents the brane which bounds collective oscillations of gravitational and scalar field standing waves.
